I've finally achieved consistency in my life. Any person of average or above intelligence can predict what I will say next with unerring accuracy. And what I say will always be wrong.

[ITSALLABOUTMEMAN] Re: Would you stay at the Morikami?

It's nice to hear from you. It sure would be nice if these NPR Public Insight Networks would invite citizen participation into things that really matter, for example,

"Hey Matt, we are considering breaking the longstanding NPR blacklist of Noam Chomsky, and interviewing him. We don't know what will happen if we do that, but we want to give people exposure to new ideas."

And I'd probably say, "Wow, Katherine, I think that would be pretty nifty. The world's greatest living intellectual lives among us, it would really be quite cool for the American people to benefit from his perspective."

Instead, you write to me all the way up here in Michigan (and I'm not sure why) but you ask me if have any plans to stay somewhere I've never heard of in a state I've only ever visited once.  I guess it's legitimate to want to know, the capitalist enterprise must grind on, and indeed, grinding down anybody in it's path.

When I was younger, I enjoyed hearing people like John Ciardi on NPR. Having read his translation of Dante's Inferno when I was still younger, I appreciated the opportunity to listen to his greatness. I was poor then, but I felt I could be in the club. It had a pacifying effect.

Now on NPR I hear neoliberal idiots mocking people they regard to be stupider and more bigoted than they are (the rural poor).  This doesn't have a pacifying effect on me, or I would imagine, anybody else, except perhaps Clinton voters that didn't feel compelled to hold their noses when they cast their votes.

You people should try to learn from recent history, you know what they say about people who can't do that.

Have a blessed day.

Hi, I'm Katie Lepri, the Public Insight Network analyst for WLRN, South Florida's NPR station.

Palm Beach County is looking to open an authentic Japanese inn, called a "ryokan," at the Morikami Museum and Gardens. The inn was part of the original masterplan for the property 30 years ago. However, the county is only now starting to make moves to bring lodging to the grounds.

Would you stay at Morikami Museum and Gardens? Be part of the conversation by telling us here or contact reporter Isabella Cueto at icueto@wlrnnews.org.

The deadline for this story is today, so if you have some time to respond, we'd appreciate hearing from you soon.

Thank you.

Katie
