You know, the internet is full of propaganda and lies. I always regard a blog or "news" source that doesn't allow comments as fiction.

The falsity of what your fiction writer wrote is becoming more apparent every day. For example, the idea that nobody has corroborated what Hersh wrote, for example. People are starting to do exactly that day by day.

And aren't you the same guys that went out on a limb and called David Petraeus "BetrayUs" - you took a lot of flack for that one, but once Petraeus went to work for Obama, you never had one bad thing to say about him, did you? Oh, I got that right - and in the end this was one of the rare occassions you turned out to be right about something, but not once did you call attention to your early insight, or apologize for your later weakness. It's all just thrashing about in a pool of amnesia with you guys, isn't it? You helped create Obamanstein Monster, now you are warning us about the danger he put us all in. You should start with a humble apology, and acknowledge that you are making a course change. Even the Eagles ate a little crow when they did what they said they would never do! If that bunch of arrogant bastards can do it, why can't your bunch of arrogant bastards do it?

And for a supposed grassroots organization, you make it impossible to talk back to you, don't you? I know you won't read this. We'll also work with an international network of MoveOn's sister organizations that are fighting the same corporate agenda in Australia, Canada, the U.K., Germany, and other countries impacted by the TPP and similar trade deals—because if just one member nation pulls out, the whole deal falls apart.

The details of the TPP aren't shared with the public, but here's some of what we know about it, because of leaks:

The TPP is being negotiated in secret. Corporate representatives are in the room, but the public isn't allowed to know the details of the trade deal.³

There is a provision called "investor-state dispute settlement." ISDS allows multinational corporations to challenge our domestic laws—such as environmental or safety regulations—to potentially win millions of dollars in damages that would have to be paid by American taxpayers. And the judges in these disputes? A rotating panel of lawyers that represent the very corporations that would bring the cases.⁴

In most instances of such lawsuits so far, corporations have used ISDS to attack laws designed to help working families. They sued Egypt for raising the minimum wage, they sued Germany for eliminating nuclear power to keep its citizens safe, and right now Philip Morris is suing Uruguay for implementing tobacco regulations designed to cut smoking rates and protect children.^5,6

If Congress grants Fast Track authority, this agreement could be finalized without close congressional oversight. Fast Track would give lawmakers 90 days for an up or down, yes or no vote to ratify the entire treaty—and take away any power to change its provisions.⁷

Here's how we'll win:

We'll pour on pressure where we have the most leverage—with Democrats in the House who are wavering. If enough of them refuse to go along with Republicans, we can kill this thing in the House with votes from both parties.

We'll expose what the TPP is really about to a massive audience, because to know the TPP is to oppose the TPP. Already, the video we made with former labor secretary Robert Reich, in which he breaks down the deal, has been viewed more than 3 million times—but it will take more to combat the pro-TPP media campaign being waged by its corporate supporters.

The TPP relies on all 12 countries that are part of the deal to sign on—which means we're fighting on a global scale. We'll work with MoveOn's sister organizations in countries affected by the TPP and similar trade deals, so that we're learning from each other and improving our strategies. Check out this newspaper ad that MoveOn and organizations in four countries put out at the last TPP ministerial meeting in Hawai'i:

The story will be available there until the empire crumbles, by my comments may be deleted soon. I suggest you go listen to / read the story, and then read my best comment, copied here your enjoyment:

"Parallels?" A new spin on the daily propaganda? One parallel that NPR won't draw - between the case of this reporter and that of Tareq Ayyoub, the Al Jazeera reporter murdered by the US during the invasion of Iraq. I just love american exceptionalism, when somebody else threatens and American reporter, all hell breaks loose, when the American government murders a foreign reporter, it doesn't even warrent a mention (a search on Tareq Ayyoub's name on NPR's site turned up nothing). It wasn't a one off, either; the U.S. military also bombed Al-Jazeera's Kabul, Afghanistan, office, and in 2005 Bush wanted to bomb Al Jazeera headquaters in Qatar, an American ally! (http://www.salon.com/2005/11/30/al_jazeera_3/) apparently the otherwise worthless Tony Blair dissuaded him. NPR has shown their true role in their lack of support for courageous and outstanding journalists when they were under attack by the US Government. By the way, I enjoy the occasional slips of the mask, as when Inskeep sputtered in mock outrage "this is the same prime minister installed, in part, by the US government..." as a domesticated journalist, Inskeep understands what it means to give the government good value for its money, and sets up a bit of yapping when he recognizes another government asset is not living up the deal.

The Run Warren Run campaign is doing something extraordinary: By organizing on the ground in the early primary states, it's keeping open the possibility of a Warren candidacy, in a moment when the primary is supposedly sewn up—and in the process forcing issues like economic inequality and political corruption to the center of the debate. Let's be clear: There are only two alternatives to this agreement and the final round of talks—a nuclear-armed and more dangerous Iran or another costly war in the Middle East. Neither will make our nation more secure.
