Could not resist rubbing it in a little bit with my friend, the right wing radio talk show host. 

For somebody who claims (as a so-called libertarian) that he had no great love for Bush, he really took umbridge when Muntadher al-Zaidi performed that great act in the service of his people, and the human race. My old friend went so far as to dehumanize him by calling him a "pustule."

It's funny how somebody who was once a charming rogue as a young man has become a very hard to like, very uncharming rogue. Rogue in the sense that John McCain is a rogue.

It's startling to note how many news outlets have said the pie in Murdoch's face has somehow changed course for Murdoch - a typical example:  http://www.newyorker.com/online/blogs/johncassidy/2011/07/murdoch-catches-a-pie-and-a-break.html

It could be that the British government have no real taste for prosecuting him, and are looking for any excuse to let him off the hook. It could be the same for the press, from The New Yorker to ABC.

I suppose they did the same thing with Bush and the shoes. Portrayed him as a victim, but man, did you see how he ducked?  Better than Ben Stiller in Dodgeball!

Why do the little nobodies who never did anything worthwhile in their lives persist in throwing things at decent, honest men of great achievement? Shoes, pies... I don't kow what the world is coming to.
