I'm trying to find the identity of the model/actress in the recent LG
washing machine commercial. Short dark hair, blue dress, walking in

the street of a large city, returns home, throws the dress in to
steam, removes it, puts in on and goes out for the evening. I like
her hair. Can't find her identity on the internet but can find the commercial

at http://www.television-ads.com/tvl/lg.htm. Hope you can help.
Thanks!

I did some searching but came up empty handed. I did find a link on
LGusa.com that allows you to submit a question about their

advertising, though. Below "General Inquiries" just under the "PR"
heading, you can click "Advertising". A new window will come up,
allowing you to submit a question about their advertising. This may be

your best bet. Good Luck.

Thank you, artqs. I did submit a question regarding that particular
commercial and we'll see what happens. I appreciate your advice.

I was also impressed with this commercial, but due to the music.
Anyone know if it's an independant song from an album somewhere that I
could purchase?

taw21 The song you are referring to was made from this song: "Jens
Lekman - A Sweet Summer's Night on Hammer Hill". The original song

does not sound the same as it does in the commercial. (Live Video of
the song performed in Cleveland -

[CanYoAssDigIt] Re: [Bizarro_UltraZine] Federline -- bum and parasite ...

I just love these reality TV shows. I would imagine that they are both making a pretty penny on this.

It would have been nice to snag this programming for Banal Media (BM) but it's beyond our modest economic reach.

They'll probably end up on Fox.

The folks that did the Nick and Jessica newlywed show wanted to do the Nick and Jessica divorce show, but Nick wised up and said no thanks. But Kevin and Brit are crass and greedy, and will not pass up the chance.

They are going to award custody based on who gets the most votes from viewers. I'll be there wearing my finger out dialing in my vote.

Which will be:  SACRIFICE THE LITTLE CREEPS TO SATAN, THEY'LL BE BETTER OFF THAN THEY WOULD WITH EITHER OF THESE JACKASSES.

Federline Responds to Britney Divorce

Kevin Federline wasted no time in responding to his estranged wife Britney Spears' divorce plans by filing his own papers in Los Angeles yesterday.

According to the documents, Federline is asking for legal and physical custody of the couple's children, Sean Preston and Jayden James. He is asking the authorities to award Spears visitation rights. The custody battle is set to be the fiery aspect of the divorce -- in her petition, Spears asked for sole physical and legal custody of the kids.

and, even though Britney made Federline
sign a pre-nup...

Federline is also asking the court to award him spousal support.

Federline can kiss THAT good-bye!
Britney knew what she was doing when

[CanYoAssDigIt] Fwd: [progressive] brush clearing OF A PRESIDENT movie now on GoogleVideo

It seems that this video is one and a half hours long. I couldn't even get a minute into it, because it kept pausing. In any case, I would caution people against posting stuff that has to do with the death of the president in any way. That's the kind of stuff that the FBI is questioning high school students about. I would steer clear of this subject.

[CanYoAssDigIt] Re: [progressive] Young, Cold and for Sale: BOB HERBERT ; Run, Barack, Run: DAVID BROOKS +

When I saw the heading "Young, Cold, and for Sale" I thought that was the story about Barack Obama.

So New York Times writers support him as much as Time Magazine does. It looks like the fix is in, doesn't it?  I think all the editors and opinion writers for Time and the NYTimes on this list should vote for him.  The rest of us shouldn't and David Brooks gives many, many excellent reasons not to.

He does not demonize his opponents and tells audiences that he does not think George Bush is a bad man.

Now come on, if he doesn't think Dubya is bad, who does he think is?  Ming the Merciless?  Lex Luthor?  Some other imaginary bad person?  Chavez smelled the sulfer, and billions agreed that they smelled it too. I guess everything smells like roses to Obama.  Clearly, that powers that be want a guy like him in - no war crimes trials, no lobbying reform... perhaps a continuation of the war in Iraq, and no relief for poor and working people?  Has Obama said anything about these issues? I haven't seen the evidence.

He has a compulsive tendency to see both sides of any issue. Joe Klein of Time counted 50 instances of extremely judicious on-the-one-hand-on the-other-hand formulations in the book. He seems like the guy who spends his first 15 minutes at a restaurant debating the relative merits of fish versus meat.

The opinion formers quote each other, isn't that cute?  But of more concern... I can hear the chants being reprised already...."flip...flop....flip....flop...." And for good reason. I don't see any evidence that he stands for anything.

During our talk, I reminded Obama that at some level politics is about power, not conversation. He pointed out that he'd risen from nothing to national prominence in a few years so he knew something about acquiring power, but he kept returning to his mode, which is conversation, deliberation and reconciliation.

You know how consensus is really built in politics?  With lots and lots of horsetrading.  Team Reagan put on a tough front, but behind the scenes they were making deals like crazy.  "The pigs were really feeding at the trough," said David Stockman.  This is clearly Obama's starting point, without even the tough talk.

The contemporary guru he cites most is Warren Buffett.

That's pretty telling, isn't it?  There are worse takeover billionaires you could admire, but there are other political, economic and philisophical thinkers out there you could be studying besides takeover billionaires.

He, conceptually, welcomes free trade and thinks the U.S. may have no choice but to improvise and slog it out in Iraq.

Ah, so he does, kinda, sorta, take a stand on a couple of issues, and comes down on the wrong side.  I presume that he doesn't mean free trade, but rather the "free" trade that Clinton, Bush, and the billionaires they serve, support.

He is one of those progressives, like Gordon Brown in Britain, who is thinking about the challenges of globalization outside the normal cliches.

I wish that he wouldn't insult us by saying Obama is progressive.  Has the word lost all meaning?

Consider Brown for example:
"Brown has strongly supported a number of aspects of US foreign policy, notably by voting for the invasions of Afghanistan in 2001 and Iraq in 2003."  (Wikipedia).

Now we are getting to the gist of it. You are a weighty and significant "progressive if you think outside the normal cliches - that is, if you support the Bush agenda uncritically.

Brooks probably daydreams of a world where Gordon Brown plays poodle to Barach Obama.

this is how Omar Waraich puts it on the Counterpunch webside:

"[Blair's] critics, a vast multitude , are not entirely wrong about the prime minister. After all, it's plain from just glancing at the guy that he now embodies the ruin that he has supervised. Cracks have formed on his skin. That seraphic smile no longer cleaves his face. His hair has diminished in direct proportion to his popularity; what remains has grizzled.

"But there is much to be appreciated, too. Consider the alternative. Under chancellor of the exchequer Gordon Brown -- the patient successor to be -- it is unlikely that policies will alter course. Brown, we are assured, "will be absolutely New Labour to his fingertips and also, incidentally, a very strong supporter of the transatlantic relationship." As one MP has described the syzygy, "Blair and Brown are two cheeks of the same arse." There is, however, one principal difference: Brown has all the passion and affect of an ashtray. With Blair, you are at least guaranteed the odd moment of mirth."

I find much of this hauntingly familiar, and not at all reassuing.  Will Obama prove to be a matching cheek to Bush on the same presidential arse?

Please, let's just not find out.

The girl approached me on a desolate stretch of Metropolitan Parkway, about halfway between the airport and the clustered lights of the downtown skyline. The night was unusually cold and she was shivering a little. She told me she was 15, but she didn't look more than 12.

It was bad enough that the child was outside at all at midnight. The fact that she was turning tricks was heartbreaking. I explained that I was a reporter for The New York Times and asked if she would wait while I went to get someone to help her. She looked surprised. ''I don't need any help,'' she said.

I had already spent a night traveling with undercover vice cops, and they had pointed out the different neighborhoods in which under-age prostitutes, some as young as 10, roamed the streets.

Whether you're liberal or conservative, you should hope Senator Barack Obama runs for president.

Barack Obama should run for president.

He should run first for the good of his party. It would demoralize the Democrats to go through a long primary season with the most exciting figure in the party looming off in the distance like some unapproachable dream. The next Democratic nominee should either be Barack Obama or should have the stature that would come from defeating Barack Obama.

[CanYoAssDigIt] Re: [RxR108] Re: how to avoid being shot by a cop

I know that people like to attach a name to material from anonymous sources in order to give it a false sense of gravity (a principle I learned from Ralph Keye's wonderful book, "Nice Guys Finish Seventh" - check it out at http://www.ralphkeyes.com/pages/books_old/niceguys/) - but it seems bizarre that they would attribute this apology for bad police behavior to Cheri Lewis, part of the pathetically incompetent O J Simpson prosecution, an affair notible for police and prosecutorial misconduct.  I might add, a prosecution which unsuccessfully tried to sell racist behavior to a jury that was 3/4 black.

So I know that Sheri Lewis isn't the sharpest tool in the shed, but would she address this diatribe to "slick"?  Might as well attribute this to Abraham Lincoln, it would be just as (un)believable, and it would have more gravity.

The anonymous author left off Rule #6:

Don't be black while being a citizen.

With Bush's signature on the new terrorism bill soon, we will soon have Rule #7:

Don't have an independent idea about politics.  Ever.

Welcome to the New Age, never thought we'd get this far!

[CanYoAssDigIt] Happened more than 15 minutes ago, and therefore not news

>From an interesting blog at

"Some of the same M.P.'s took a particular interest in an emotionally
disturbed Afghan detainee who was known to eat his feces and mutilate
himself with concertina wire. The soldiers kneed the man repeatedly in
the legs and, at one point, chained him with his arms straight up in
the air, Specialist Callaway told investigators. They also nicknamed
him "Timmy," after a disabled child in the animated television series
"South Park." One of the guards who beat the prisoner also taught him
to screech like the cartoon character, Specialist Callaway said.

Eventually, the man was sent home.

There's some South Park Republicans for you."

I'm sure "Timmy" feels better now that Paris and Nicole have kissed

[CanYoAssDigIt] Re: [Fiends] Scary, Disturbing, Terrifying

I fear the United States government.

Imagine the nightmare scenario of being a taxi driver with no
relationship to any terrorism or armed or unarmed resistance of any
kind, and being kidnapped, and beaten so severely that your legs were
turned to pulp, and then dying of your injuries.

An Afghan named Dilawar did not have to imagine it - because it
happened to him. Now he imagines nothing at all, ever again.

The United States government delivered a nightmare much worse than
Michael Harlan Lyman's to Dilawar, as it has to hundreds and thousands
of innocent people since the beginning of the war on terror. It was
doing it before of course, but in smaller numbers, and they felt they
had to hide it then.

They say that chickens come home to roost. If this is so, we won't
have to ever stretch our imaginations again when it comes to horror.
Any zeal we might have had to celebrate Halloween will be dampened by
the real horror and terror that will be visited upon us, as payback
for criminal sadistic actions carried out in our names, which we did
too little to stop.

Happy Halloween, indeed

[CanYoAssDigIt] Re: [OregonDems_etc] Fwd:Lieberman Loves Him Some Hastert

Well, let's try to keep a little perspective on this.  16-year-olds aren't children, they're adolescents. They are regarded as able to operate as adults in certain arenas; they can be licensed to drive automobiles, and even to marry in some places.

The whole page thing is extremely useful to the scions of well-connected families to learn how to advance in the corrupt and unwholesome environment of politics.  There have been enough page scandals that I never would send any offspring of mine into this environment, but if I wanted the fruit of my lions to grow up to be Monica Lewinsky or Steve Gobie, I couldn't think if a better training ground.

If sane people made the rules, the tradition of pages would have been abolished decades or centuries ago, but these things are run by people like Paris Hilton's parents, and while they may profess to be shocked, I tell you, shocked that these things are going on in Babylon on the Potomac, they don't really have much reason to be.

I misremembered that Steve Gobie was a page, but upon reviewing Barney Frank's Wikipedia page, I see that he wasn't.  But still, this was a pretty unsavory jam Frank got himself into, and survived by standing his ground.  Can you blame the Republicans for circling the wagons - would you want to be without Barney Frank?  At any rate, there is no shortage of sex scandals among Democrats - Many of them are horndogs too, drunk on booze and power. Enjoy this while you can, it will be cutting the other way soon enough.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barney_Frank

In 1990, the House voted to reprimand Frank when it was revealed that Steve Gobie, a male prostitute that Rep. Frank had befriended after hiring him through a personal advertisement, had conducted a prostitution ring from Frank's apartment when he was not at home. Frank had dismissed Gobie earlier that year after learning of Gobie's activities.

The Boston Globe, among others, called on Frank to resign, but he refused. The House Ethics Committee recommended Frank be reprimanded because he "reflected discredit upon the House" by using his congressional office to fix 33 of Gobie's parking tickets. Attempts to expel or censure Frank failed; instead the House voted 408-18 to reprimand him. This condemnation was not reflected in Frank's district, where he won re-election in 1990 with 66 percent of the vote, and has won by larger margins ever since.

Lieberman Loves Him Some Hastert

Joe Lieberman takes yet another swing at Democrats who want to "politicize" the gross mismangement by his Republican friends that led to the online sexual solicitation of minors who were under their protection.  As he told the Courant:

"The Foley case bothers people," he added. "If anyone thinks they can make this into another partisan flap, it's not. It's very real and human. The House Republican leaders and, frankly, the Democratic leadership, should not make it partisan."

Hey Harry Reid, he's talkin' about you. Are you gonna take that — again?

Ned Lamont :

"The fact that Joe Lieberman says calling for Hastert's resignation is too `partisan' demonstrates that he's been in Washington so long that he can't recognize the difference between what's right and what's partisan."

Sirota :

Many have been disgusted with Lieberman's refusal to hold the White House accountable when it came to the Iraq War, and his vicious attacks on those who have criticized the war. But this goes from disgusting to nauseating. Watching him, you think you are watching a smarmy politician in a B comedy movie about Washington. You know, the guy who goes before cameras to claim to be a moral pious man, and then turns around, pockets a huge amount of Republican cash from moneymen funding the legal defense of indicted government officials, and then goes back out and attacks those demanding action to deal with the cover up of a child sexual predator scandal.

Put another way, this is the kind of behavior that confirms all the awful stereotypes people think about politicians. As Lamont told reporters today in reiterating his call for Hastert to resign immediately , people in Washington like Lieberman are reacting to this story as if children are just props in morally challenged politicians' never-ending quest to hold onto power. It's sick and its wrong - and it's time for a change.

The memory of Holy Joe on the floor of the Senate being his sanctimonious, scolding, old-maid self makes it — if possible — even worse.

Jeebus he is a sickening, degenerate, soulless, bought-and-paid-for DC insider hack.
